Kent County Council (KCC) is inviting small businesses, not-for-profit organisations, and NHS community facilities to apply for the Active Travel Business Grants 2025, aimed at reshaping travel culture across the county.
The initiative supports organisations committed to encouraging staff and customers to travel more sustainably, whether by walking, wheeling, or cycling, and to invest in facilities that make active travel a practical and attractive choice.
Grants of up to £5,000 are available to fund:
cycle parking and accessible storage
lockers and showers for active commuters
pool bikes and e-bike charging points
innovative infrastructure to support walking, wheeling and cycling.
Spencer Dixon, Deputy Cabinet Member for Highways and Transport, said: “We want to help businesses across Kent make active travel a realistic and convenient option for their staff and customers.
‘This grant scheme is about supporting practical improvements that make it easier for people to choose walking, cycling or wheeling - whether for commuting, appointments or shopping.”
Applications must be submitted by 24 October 2025. For full details, and to apply, visit: Active Travel Business Grants – Kent County Council
