WJ Group Consolidates Brands Under New Surface Treatments Division

WJ Group has announced a major brand consolidation, bringing its JMS and Textureblast operations together under a new trading division, WJ Surface Treatments, effective from 1 April.
The move sees both brands integrated into WJ North, streamlining the company’s service offering following a period of expansion that has included acquisitions and the development of specialist capabilities.
Previously, JMS operated across three key sectors—highways, marine, and surface preparation. Under the new structure, these services will continue but will now sit within WJ Surface Treatments, alongside the group’s wider retexturing expertise. The division will also maintain its presence in marine and industrial markets.
To provide clearer focus for customers, WJ has introduced dedicated websites for each service area. Highways retexturing services will be available via the main WJ website, while marine services will be delivered through a new platform, and industrial services—including surface preparation, coatings, and bridge-related works—will have their own dedicated online presence.
The restructuring brings multiple brands together under a single identity, simplifying how services are presented while retaining the specialist nature of each offering.
Wayne Johnston, CEO of WJ Group, said the change reflects the company’s growth and evolving capabilities.
“Over the years, we’ve expanded through both acquisitions and organic development, building a strong portfolio of specialist services,” he said. “Bringing JMS and Textureblast together under WJ Surface Treatments allows us to unify more of the business while maintaining the expertise our customers rely on.”
WJ Group confirmed that the transition will not impact service delivery, staffing, or existing customer relationships. Instead, it aims to improve clarity, strengthen specialisation, and enhance the overall customer experience.
The company added that the new structure supports its broader mission to deliver safer, more sustainable journeys, while maintaining the quality and trust established across its brands.
