The FDA, alongside several other trade unions, has officially entered into a partnership agreement with Transport for Wales, marking a significant step in collaborative working across the Welsh transport sector.

The agreement was formally signed on Friday 20 March 2026 following a year of discussions between the organisations. It brings together unions representing workers involved in delivering transport services across Wales.

Jane Runeckles, FDA National Officer for Wales, welcomed the development, describing it as a strong example of long-standing social partnership in action. She noted that the agreement builds on over two decades of cooperation in Wales and reflects continued commitment from government, employers, and trade unions working closely together.

Runeckles added that the agreement creates new opportunities for the FDA to play a more active role in shaping future industrial relations, addressing key workforce challenges, and expanding union membership. She also highlighted the potential benefits of workplace recognition for employees.

The signing ceremony was attended by the FDA’s Head of Organising and Learning, Deri Bevan, who represented the union alongside Ken Skates MS, Cabinet Secretary for North Wales and Transport.

The partnership is expected to strengthen collaboration between Transport for Wales and trade unions, supporting both workforce development and the delivery of transport services across the country.
