TransPennine Express (TPE) is set to introduce round-the-clock train services to and from Manchester Airport as part of its upcoming timetable changes.

From Sunday 17 May, the operator will add eight new services, creating an hourly connection between Manchester Piccadilly and the airport throughout the day and night. The move is designed to better support passengers travelling at off-peak times, particularly those catching early morning or late-night flights at one of the UK’s busiest airports.

In addition to the airport improvements, the new timetable will include an extra weekday stop at Dewsbury on the 08:05 Leeds to Manchester Piccadilly service. This change is expected to benefit commuters and students by offering more convenient early-morning travel options into Manchester.

TPE is also planning to boost services during the Edinburgh Fringe, with two additional daily trains running from 3 August to 4 September. These services are aimed at helping festival goers return after evening performances and events.

Andrew McClements, Customer Experience and Transformation Director at TPE, said the changes are intended to give passengers more flexibility and choice, while enhancing the overall travel experience.

Passengers are advised to check their journeys in advance, as some services may still be affected by planned engineering works.
