Ramboll has announced the return of sustainability expert Phil Kelly, who has rejoined the business as Head of Department for Buildings Advisory and Consultancy within its UK & Ireland buildings division.
Based in Ramboll’s Leeds office, Kelly will lead the consultancy’s advisory and sustainability offering across the built environment sector, helping clients deliver low-carbon, future-focused projects aligned with Ramboll’s global “Partner for Sustainable Change” strategy.
In his new position, Kelly will oversee a multi-disciplinary consultancy team covering areas including sustainability, building performance, acoustics, façade engineering and wider specialist advisory services.
Kelly previously worked at Ramboll between 2019 and 2023, where he led the company’s sustainable solutions department and sustainability team within the buildings business.
Widely recognised for his expertise in decarbonisation, net zero strategies and circular economy principles, Kelly brings more than 20 years of experience delivering sustainability initiatives across both project and organisational levels.
He is both a Chartered Engineer and Chartered Environmentalist and has worked extensively on helping organisations develop long-term approaches to carbon reduction, environmental performance and sustainable development.
Ramboll said Kelly’s return strengthens the company’s ability to support clients navigating increasingly complex sustainability challenges across the construction and property sectors.
The appointment comes at a time of growing demand for specialist advisory services as developers, asset owners and public sector organisations continue accelerating efforts to meet net zero targets, improve building performance and reduce environmental impact across infrastructure and construction projects.
