Southern Water has announced a new partnership with road safety charity Brake, aiming to strengthen efforts to improve safety for drivers and communities across the UK.
As part of the collaboration, Southern Water will become an Associated Partner of Brake, supporting national awareness campaigns and key initiatives such as Road Safety Week.
The partnership will also focus on promoting safer driving habits among the company’s workforce.
With a large operational fleet, Southern Water is in a strong position to share road safety messages widely.
The organisation has committed to funding Brake’s work over the coming year, while also embedding safety-focused communications internally to encourage responsible driving practices among its employees.
Brake’s Chief Executive, Ross Moorlock, welcomed the partnership, highlighting the opportunity to reach more road users through Southern Water’s extensive operations. He noted that the collaboration reflects a shared commitment to protecting drivers, communities, and those affected by road incidents.
The initiative is designed not only to raise awareness but also to support practical action in reducing risks on the roads. By engaging staff and promoting education around safe driving, the partnership aims to contribute to a wider culture of road safety.
Martin Lock, Southern Water’s Fleet Manager, said the collaboration aligns closely with the company’s focus on prevention and continuous improvement. He added that working with Brake will help reinforce safety standards while supporting broader efforts to reduce collisions and their impact.
