Six contracts awarded on National Highways SPaTS3 framework

An AtkinsRéalis Jacobs Joint Venture, Ove Arup & Partners, Amey, Arcadis, Costain and WSP have been appointed to the £495 million Specialist Professional and Technical Service 3 (SPaTS3) Framework from National Highways.


The six year contracts are for these suppliers to provide road transport-related technical consultancy, engineering advice, research and innovation services.


These will include, among other things, geotechnical engineering; asset operation, maintenance, assurance and performance; design standards manuals and departures; environmental; highways structures; sustainability; and transport engineering services.


The previous SPaTS2 framework has provided specialist, professional and technical advice and support to National Highways through the Second Road Investment Strategy (RIS2).

Since 2006, Mott MacDonald and WSP have delivered specialist advice and research services to National Highways, including key initiatives such as its Net Zero Plan.  Mott MacDonald will again be supporting WSP on the latest framework.
