Transport for London (TfL) has introduced a series of updates to its TfL Go app aimed at making journey planning and fare tracking easier for passengers travelling across the capital.

The latest improvements focus on helping pay-as-you-go users better understand their travel costs, while also enhancing accessibility and live travel information within the app.

One of the key new features allows passengers to view their journey history more clearly and track when they have reached daily or weekly fare caps. TfL has also added an optional feature that gives users personalised information about which fare cap may apply based on their regular travel patterns.

The update is designed to help passengers manage travel costs more effectively while making fare information easier to understand.

For iPhone users, TfL has also improved the app’s search functionality on the bus stop map, allowing locations to be searched more easily and saved for quicker access when planning future journeys.

Live bus tracking features have also been enhanced, with improved real-time waiting information helping passengers better monitor approaching services and plan connections more efficiently.

TfL confirmed that additional updates for Android users are expected to roll out over the coming months as part of ongoing improvements to the platform.

Emma Strain, Customer Director at Transport for London, said the organisation is continuing to invest in making the TfL Go app more user-friendly and accessible for customers.

She said the latest changes are intended to make it easier for passengers to monitor fare caps, personalise travel planning and navigate London’s transport network more confidently.

Strain added that TfL is planning further enhancements in the months ahead as part of wider efforts to simplify public transport journeys across the capital.

The TfL Go app has become an increasingly important digital tool for passengers since its launch, providing live travel updates, route planning and service information across London’s transport network.
