Major road to shut for resurfacing works

Motorists are likely to experience delays while a major road is closed for resurfacing works.


Part of St Albans Road, Watford, is set to be shut from 8pm overnight from Monday, February 12 to Friday, February 16 while the works are carried out.


Before then, Clarendon Road is due to be shut for one day for window cleaning, while lane closures will also affect traffic using two of the busiest roads in Rickmansworth later this month.


The following information is sourced from the One.Network website and is a selection of the roadworks due to take place in the Watford and Rickmansworth areas over the next two weeks:


- Drivers using Clarendon Road, Watford, may experience delays between Monday and Wednesday due to works by Affinity Water. Two-way traffic lights will be in use at this time.


- Clarendon Road, Watford, will be closed to motorists on February 11 to allow window cleaning to be safely carried out on the buildings at the Station Road end.


- Drivers are set to experience delays due to the overnight closure of St Albans Road, Watford, for resurfacing works. The road is due to be shut from 8pm to 5.30am, from February 12 to February 16, while the works are carried out at the junctions with Penn Roads and Bedford Street, and the length of road approximately between Brixton Road and Church Road. A diversion will be in place.


- A lane will be closed in Rectory Road, Rickmansworth, from 8am to 6pm, from February 12 to February 16, while UK Power Networks install a new service connection.


- A lane is due to be shut in Scots Hill, Rickmansworth, between February 13 and February 16 for works by Affinity Water.


- Euston Avenue, Watford, is set to be shut to motorists from 9.30am to 4pm on February 15 to wash and clean gullies. The work is due to happen in the turning circle near Whippendell Road.


- Washing and cleaning gullies is also due to take place in Princes Avenue, Watford, on February 15, again between 9.30am and 4pm when the road will be shut.
