Motorists have been advised to seek alternative routes after a landslip led to the closure of the A377 Bonhay Road in Exeter, Devon.
Devon & Cornwall Police closed the road at around 16:00 GMT on Saturday. National Highways confirmed that a geological team will inspect the site before the road can reopen, though no timeline has been provided.
Exeter St David’s councillor Diana Moore warned of significant disruption, urging drivers to avoid the area. She noted that wetter winters, linked to climate change, are contributing to such incidents:"It's going to cause a lot of disruption, and people will need to consider alternative routes around Exeter until the road is safe to reopen."
