Safer Highways nab wellbeing coach to give the sector an inspirational resource available to our membership around mental health.
Safer Highways, the industry-wide movement which seeks to drive improvement for those we put to work, are delighted to announce that former Highways Heroes winner, Jamie Forsyth is to join the organisation as a wellbeing coach.
Jamie will join on a consultancy basis allowing him to pursue his own "Wellbeing Geek" brand whilst at the same time offer training and in-company talks to member organisations who are actively seeking to drive standards around workplace mental health.
A self confessed Bi-Polar suffer Jamie has become something of a social media celebrity with his honest and open accounts of his own struggles, something Safer Highways CEO, Kevin Robinson, empathises with;
Speaking about bringing Jamie into the Safer Highways family he said,
"I have never shied away from my own personal mental health struggles and hope that by documenting my struggles I inspire others.
"Jamie, like me, is an open book he is completely frank and honest; whether talking about his own challenges or history ; whether speaking to a chief executive of a tier one company or operatives in a mess room.
"Jamie is a real person and many of those who work for our members will, I hope, truly benefit from listening to Jamie's story or alternatively experiencing mental health training from somebody who themselves has gone through the pain of poor mental heath."
Jamie will also be receiving a series of 1 to 1 coaching sessions from fellow Safer highways advocate Jason Anker to hone his story to ensure he delivers maximum benefit to the organisations he works with in the future.
Speaking about the move from his previous role Jamie said;
" I’m genuinely excited to be part of the Safer Highways family where I know that wellbeing is at the heart of everything they do. It’s very easy to talk the talk but walking the walk is something that I know Kevin and Freya always do.
"Having the chance to offer support to the amazing member organisations is an opportunity I couldn’t pass on and I look forward to making a huge impact on the wellbeing of their employees.
"I am a big believer in the power of sharing personal experiences when it comes to mental health, wellbeing and safety in the workplace. The impact these stories have ripples across all industries and there is no better example of the this that Jason Anker."
Jamie will be employed by SO Media Group with his training and experiential talks available to book either through himself directly or via the usual Safer Highways comms channels.
Through his work with Safer Highways Jamie will continue to produce his a new and improved version of his podcast, free from any organisational politics and also be a shining light as we continually seek to promote better mental health across our sector.
