People living, working, visiting, travelling, or studying in Greater Manchester are being invited to help shape the future of travel in the city region by giving their views on the GM Transport Strategy 2050 and the GM Transport Delivery Plan (2027–2037).
Developed alongside the region’s 10 local councils and in consultation with businesses, community groups, and stakeholders, the plans aim to create a world-class transport system while tackling inequality and supporting sustainable growth. They outline how the Bee Network could help Greater Manchester remain the UK’s growth capital through the middle of the century.
The public consultation launched on Tuesday 9 December 2025 and will run until Monday 9 March 2026.
The strategy and delivery plan, backed by £2.5bn in government funding, outline projects that will improve public transport and the highways network, better connecting people to jobs, services, homes, and opportunities, including healthcare and education. The plans also support the new £1bn GM Good Growth Fund, designed to drive regeneration and economic growth across every district.
Vernon Everitt, Transport Commissioner for Greater Manchester, said:
“World-class transport is the key to unlocking sustainable economic growth, higher productivity, and reducing inequality. The Bee Network is already delivering clear benefits, but there is still much to do. It is critical we take a long-term view through this 2050 strategy and delivery plan.Every voice matters, and we want to hear from communities to ensure these plans deliver what every area and community needs now and in the future.”
Residents and stakeholders can provide feedback via gmconsult.org, where details on the plans and face-to-face drop-in sessions across Greater Manchester are also available.
