London Gatwick has named a group of construction and engineering specialists that will help deliver a major programme of infrastructure improvements over the coming years.
The airport has awarded places on new Building and Civils Frameworks to 11 contractors, creating a delivery network that could support projects for up to six years as part of Gatwick's long-term growth and modernisation plans.
The move is designed to streamline procurement and strengthen relationships with key suppliers as the airport embarks on a wide-ranging programme of upgrades focused on capacity, efficiency and sustainability.
Among the companies appointed are Costain, Morgan Sindall Construction and Infrastructure, Mace Construct, M Group Transport, Lagan Aviation & Infrastructure, P.J. Hegarty & Sons, P J Carey, Gatwick Construction, BP Installations, Camgo Electrical and 8build.
The framework agreements will support a broad range of projects across the airport estate, including terminal refurbishments, pier upgrades, asset replacement works and enhancements to passenger facilities.
Planned schemes are also expected to include improvements to self-service check-in technology, operational infrastructure upgrades and the expansion of electric vehicle charging facilities as Gatwick continues its drive towards lower-carbon operations.
Airport leaders say the framework approach will provide greater flexibility and consistency when delivering projects while ensuring specialist expertise is available as investment plans progress.
The appointments build on the launch of Gatwick's Design Services Framework in 2025 and form part of a wider strategy to create stronger long-term partnerships across its supply chain.
In addition to improving project delivery, the frameworks are expected to generate opportunities for small and medium-sized businesses, while supporting objectives around local employment, carbon reduction and social value.
Alasdair Scobie, Capital Programmes Director at London Gatwick, said the new arrangements will play an important role in delivering infrastructure improvements that enhance both operational performance and passenger experience while supporting the airport's environmental ambitions.
Fellow Capital Programmes Director Chris Elliott added that the appointments provide a strong foundation for future investment and will help ensure projects are delivered efficiently over the coming years.
The frameworks sit within Gatwick's wider sustainable growth programme, which is expected to see around £2 billion invested across the airport over the next six years.
Alongside infrastructure improvements, the airport is continuing work towards its target of achieving net-zero emissions from its own operations by 2030 and is pursuing plans to increase capacity through the regular use of its Northern Runway.
London Gatwick welcomed approximately 43 million passengers during 2025, maintaining its position as the UK's second-busiest airport.
