Arnold Clark Charge has strengthened its electric vehicle infrastructure with the introduction of six ultra-rapid charging points at its York Motorstore.

Situated at York Business Park, the new facility forms part of the company’s wider strategy to grow its national charging network, making EV charging more accessible and convenient for motorists. The site is open to all users and is expected to support both local drivers and those passing through the area on longer journeys.

The chargers offer high-speed charging at a competitive rate of 55p per kWh, notably below the current UK average. This pricing aims to provide a more affordable option for EV users as demand for reliable charging continues to rise.

As part of its expansion plans, Arnold Clark is focusing on key locations across the UK to ensure better coverage and accessibility. The ultra-rapid technology enables drivers to recharge quickly, helping reduce waiting times and making electric vehicles more practical for everyday use.

Payment options are flexible, with drivers able to use the Arnold Clark app, contactless payment, or access the chargers via roaming partners.

In addition to the charging facilities, customers can also take advantage of complimentary refreshments in-store while they wait, enhancing the overall user experience.

Pablo Levi, Group Sustainability Manager at Arnold Clark, said the York installation represents another important step in the company’s rollout of EV infrastructure, with a continued focus on making charging simple, affordable and widely available.
