Three Transport Support Enforcement Officers have been praised after their calm and compassionate response helped a vulnerable passenger receive urgent medical treatment at one of London's busiest stations.

Quick thinking and teamwork by Transport for London's enforcement staff has been recognised after officers came to the aid of a vulnerable passenger who became seriously unwell at Stratford station.

Transport Support Enforcement Officers Patrick Nestori, Agit Zengin and Daniel Ogudu responded after station colleagues raised concerns about a customer who appeared confused, distressed and in need of immediate assistance while attempting to travel through the station.

On reaching the passenger, the officers took time to calmly speak with him, reassuring him while assessing the situation. As they engaged with him, it became clear that he was suffering significant breathing difficulties and required urgent medical attention.

Recognising the seriousness of the situation, the team placed the passenger into the recovery position while immediately requesting assistance from the London Ambulance Service.

The officers remained with him throughout the incident, providing reassurance and monitoring his condition until paramedics arrived and took over his care before transporting him to hospital for further treatment.

The incident has highlighted the increasingly important role frontline transport staff play beyond their traditional enforcement duties, with officers regularly responding to welfare incidents involving vulnerable passengers across London's public transport network.

Transport for London praised the professionalism, empathy and decisive actions shown by Patrick, Agit and Daniel, describing their response as an example of the dedication colleagues demonstrate every day to help keep customers safe.

Their actions serve as a reminder that, while transport staff are often recognised for maintaining safety and security across the network, they are equally prepared to provide care, reassurance and lifesaving assistance when passengers need it most.
