The nominations highlight projects spanning active travel, transport planning, innovation, road safety and major infrastructure improvements, reflecting the council's ongoing investment in creating safer, more sustainable and better-connected transport networks.

Recognition for Innovation and Best Practice

Colin Park, Head of Roads, Transportation and Fleet Services at South Lanarkshire Council, welcomed the announcement and praised the efforts of staff involved in developing and delivering the shortlisted projects.

He said the nominations demonstrate the commitment, expertise and innovation being applied across the council's transport services to improve journeys for residents, businesses and visitors throughout the area.

According to Park, the recognition reflects the organisation's focus on delivering high-quality infrastructure and transport solutions that enhance safety, accessibility and efficiency across the network.

Celebrating Scotland's Transport Sector

Now in its 23rd year, the Scottish Transport Awards recognise excellence across the country's transport industry, celebrating organisations and individuals who have made significant contributions to improving transport systems and services.

The awards are supported by a number of key industry bodies and organisations, including the Scottish Government, Transport Scotland, Network Rail, the Railway Industry Association and CPT Scotland.

The winners will be announced at a ceremony taking place at the Glasgow Marriott Hotel on 11 June 2026.
