Richmond Council has released details of its planned highway maintenance and improvement works across Twickenham and surrounding areas for 2026, as part of its ongoing investment in local infrastructure.
The programme is designed to enhance road surfaces, pavements, and overall safety for drivers, cyclists, and pedestrians. While some disruption is expected during the works, the council says the improvements are necessary to maintain the condition of key local routes.
Planned carriageway resurfacing and major maintenance in Twickenham includes:
Bridge Street (A305) – Hill Street to Willoughby Road
Grove Road – full length
Mereway Road – full length
South Road (B358) – Willington Road to Stanley Road
Broadway Avenue – full length
Copthall Gardens – Heath Road to outside no. 70C
Sandycoombe Road – full length
Richmond Road (A305) – St Margarets Road to outside no. 215
Woodbine Close – full length
Fulwell Park Avenue – full length
Staines Road (A305) – Gothic Road to First Cross Road
In addition to carriageway works, the council plans footway and pavement improvements throughout the area as part of the wider maintenance programme.
Exact dates, traffic management arrangements, and any temporary restrictions will be confirmed closer to the start of each scheme. Residents are encouraged to check the Richmond Council website regularly for updates and changes to schedules.
