As part of London Poppy Day, Transport for London (TfL) has once again paired with the Royal British Legion (RBL) to honour the fallen of servicemen and women in conflicts around the world, and raise money for veterans suffering with their mental health, and offering support with wellbeing, employment and financial advice.
As part of this year’s Poppy Day in the capital, 30th October 2025, TV presenter, comedian, and writer Jo Brand has been recording announcements at Victoria Station that have been heard across the TfL network.
In addition to this, eight TfL buses have been rebranded to honour past and present service personnel in the armed forces. The buses will run on selected bus routes across London until November 16th.
Several roundels have also been adorned with poppies at several major stations on the London Underground, the Overground and at bus stations.
While specially designed trains with illustrations of poppies can be seen on most TfL rail-based lines, including the Croydon Trams and Docklands Light Railway. The IFS Cloud Cable Cars also feature similar illustrations.
The annual London Poppy Appeal is the largest charity street collection in the UK, with over 2,000 people, including personnel from the armed forces and members of the RBL, collecting donations from passengers at major stations between 7 am and 7 pm.
The aim is to raise £1 million from donations while ensuring members of the public have a poppy of their own to wear on Armistice Day.
TfL is part of the Armed Forces Covenant, and is proud to support the RBL and the London Poppy Appeal each year. This year, members from the London Transport Old Comrades will march past the Cenotaph on Remembrance Sunday, honouring the 4,500 members of London’s transport staff who died in both world wars and other conflicts since.
Members of TfL staff will fall silent at 11 am on Armistice Day itself, Tuesday 11th November 2025, to remember those who gave their lives in honour of their country.
“I’m delighted that TfL is again marking London Poppy Day with special announcements and designs to remember and honour all the brave men and women who dedicated their lives to protecting our country. As we continue to build a better London for all, the Mayor and I would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to our nation’s Armed Forces community and their families. We are forever in their debt.”Seb Dance, London’s Deputy Mayor for Transport
“We are very proud to once again support the Royal British Legion for London Poppy Day, with special announcements from celebrity Jo Brand and the specially designed buses and trains honouring all those servicepeople who have served in our armed forces and those who have given their lives. We appreciate the support from all our partners, and hope that customers will donate what they can and help us in this important fundraising effort.”
