Highway Care, the specialist in barrier systems and innovative solutions for road, worker and public realm safety, has completed its new senior leadership structure following the company’s acquisition by Ramudden Global earlier this year.
Combining strategic new appointments with the experience of directors that have been embedded in the business for decades, the new leadership team has been assembled to leverage the legacy of Highway Care’s half a century in the highways industry, along with the potential for targeted and sustained growth as part of a dynamic, global business.
Adam Thompson has joined Highway Care as Managing Director, bringing 22 years’ experience in the highways sector to his new role, most recently for a vehicle restraint system company supplying and installing temporary barrier systems. A commercially-focused, results-driven Managing Director, Adam has a proven track record across sales performance, strategy development, project delivery and leadership, which will be central to maximising Highway Care’s growth potential as part of a major international group.
Matt Morphet is also new to Highway Care, bringing almost 30 years of experience to his new role, along with a keen focus on collaboration and driving value from partnerships. Co-chair of the Institute for Collaborative Working’s (ICW) Highways Forum (alongside National Highways), and a Federated Advisory Board Member of the Roads Academy, Matt has extensive knowledge of traffic management and safety best practice and is responsible for Highway Care’s UK Barrier Division’s performance (including products).
The new look leadership team at Highway Care also includes some familiar faces, including Commercial Director Ben Duncker, who has been at Highway Care for 22 years. Ben’s extensive knowledge of Highway Care’s product range, and relationships with customers, industry partners and suppliers ensures continuity for stakeholders as the business accelerates its development plan.
Engineering and Manufacturing Director, Adrian Bullock, also remains in post as part of Highway Care’s new leadership team, after more than 25 years with the company. With wide-ranging technical, regulatory and commercial knowledge, Adrian continues to be instrumental in new product development at the company, driving innovation and collaboration with customers, partners and highways agencies.
Ken Hutchins also continues as Finance Director at Highway Care with responsibility for due diligence on investment projects, along with day-to-day financial planning, governance and management.
Adam Thompson commented: “The professionals chosen to lead Highway Care have been selected to enable us to drive expansion and innovation in key areas of our business, including temporary barrier, automation, MTP and international road safety solutions as we complete our transition from SME to become a dynamic part of Ramudden Global Group.
“Highway Care is a respected name in our industry, known for delivering innovative solutions for a safer future, and, over the years, the business has directly influenced some of the common safety standards and practices used across the sector today. The appointment of a complete leadership team with complementary specialisms and experience reinforces our ambition to build on those foundations and continue to innovate as a major player.”
