Hercules, the AIM-listed construction labour subcontractor, has been included on Balfour Beatty’s preferred supplier list for power transmission and distribution projects.

The company, which has a long-standing relationship with Balfour Beatty providing general construction labour, will now expand its role to support the electricity sector, offering specialist labour for substations, cabling, and civils work.

Hercules’ growth in the power and energy sector began with its June 2025 acquisition of Advantage NRG, a provider of linesmen for the construction and maintenance of overhead electrical transmission lines. Its presence in the sector further increased in October 2025 with the purchase of a 70% stake in Warrington-based Lyons Power Services, a UK and international provider of power infrastructure services, including commissioning engineers for transmission and distribution networks.

Brusk Korkmaz, chief executive of Hercules, said:

“Being added to Balfour Beatty's preferred supplier list for power transmission and distribution work is another milestone in our expansion in the UK energy infrastructure market. It reflects the strong relationship we have with Balfour Beatty and the specialist capabilities we have built in labour supply for substations, cabling, and civils.”

He added:

“This development supports our continued growth in the power and energy sector and allows us to leverage the expertise of our recent acquisition, Advantage NRG. We anticipate ongoing significant investment across the UK energy infrastructure sector as it responds to rising demand and long-term network requirements over the next decade.”
