BEAR Scotland, working on behalf of Transport Scotland, is set to undertake drainage maintenance on the A83 at Loch Restil, located between Glen Croe and Glen Kinglas on the Cowal Peninsula.
The work will focus on removing debris that is obstructing a drainage channel alongside the road, which has been impacting the system’s ability to manage surface water effectively.
Operations are planned to take place between 9am and 6pm and are expected to be completed within a single day. During this time, traffic management will be in place, with a lane restriction and temporary ‘stop and go’ controls operated by workers to safely guide vehicles through the site.
Steve Taylor, BEAR Scotland’s North West Planned Maintenance Manager, said the works are aimed at restoring the drainage system’s capacity and improving water flow in the area.
He added that the team will carry out the works as efficiently as possible while prioritising the safety of both road users and the workforce, and thanked the public for their patience during the operation.
