Director appointment in response to strong demand for best-in-class services.
Costain, the infrastructure solutions company, has announced the appointment of Andy Denman as road sector director.
With more than 25 years’ experience leading highways and construction businesses, Andy joins Costain from Amey, where he was the highways sector director working closely with National Highways, Transport Scotland and local authorities across the UK. Prior to this Andy was the operations lead for integrated delivery at Ringway Jacobs, as well as working for Skanska and Atkins.
In his new role, Andy will drive Costain’s strategic focus on growth in strong markets, delivering complex schemes, renewals projects and maintenance services for its customers across the UK road network, with Costain continuing to act as a strategic delivery partner to National Highways and local authorities.
Andy’s appointment comes after Costain was recently selected by National Highwaysfor its new Specialist Professional and Technical Services Framework (SPaTS3), which will cover the whole of the period for Roads Investment Strategy 3 (2026-2031). Costain is also National Highway’s delivery partner for the M60 Simister Island Interchange scheme, which saw funding confirmed in the government’s recent Infrastructure Pipeline.
Jonathan Willcock, managing director, transportation, at Costain, commented:“Our strategy of delivering engineering-led, best-in-class services to our transportation customers in strong markets is working. Andy has a wealth of experience shaping and leading high-performing highways infrastructure programmes and his appointment will support our continued growth in the nationally-critical roads sector.
“Across the UK’s roads, railways, aviation hubs and ports, we’re delivering transportation infrastructure programmes that help create a more sustainable future, driving economic prosperity, productivity and growth while improving people’s lives.”
Andy Denman, road sector director at Costain, added: “There is excellent momentum in Costain and I’m looking forward to building on its reputation and heritage in delivering complex road infrastructure that creates economic growth and improves people’s lives. A key focus for me will be to work with our customers and supply chain partners to drive innovation, efficiency and safety as we continue to provide predictable, best-in-class infrastructure services to a diverse road customer mix.”
