Winvic Construction has started work on the Carholme Road and A46/A57 roundabout scheme in Lincoln, a £1.9 million project that marks its fourth commission under the Lincolnshire County Council Highways Framework.

The project, which began in July and is scheduled for completion in November 2025, involves extensive upgrades to a key transport corridor in the heart of the city.

The work will focus on complex civil engineering improvements to Carholme Road (between Nelson Street and the A57 Saxilby Road) and the westbound carriageway of the A46 at Carholme Roundabout. Key elements include resurfacing 9,000m² of road, building 800m² of new footway, and installing 350 metres of new drainage with 37 new gullies. Additional works will include carriageway realignment, kerb improvements, and new road markings.

As part of its social value commitments, Winvic will be supporting local employment with new roles on the project. The company also plans to engage with local schools to deliver careers workshops and STEM activities. Rob Cook, Winvic’s Managing Director for Civils and Infrastructure, stated that the company is committed to delivering the works safely, efficiently, and with minimal disruption.
