The TLS Group team has successfully completed a remarkable endurance challenge, taking on a triple marathon to raise crucial funds for the family of a colleague tragically lost over the Christmas period.
In partnership with Becketts Gym, the challenge saw the team conquer a running, skiing, and cycling marathon – a powerful display of physical endurance, mental determination, and most importantly, solidarity in the face of grief.
What began as a heartfelt idea quickly evolved into an inspiring show of strength and compassion. Together, the team pushed themselves to their limits in memory of a colleague, friend, and valued member of the TLS family.
This achievement shines a light on a much broader issue – the ongoing mental health crisis affecting men across the UK. With 75% of suicides being male, and an average of 13 men taking their own lives every day, the stark reality remains that suicide is still the leading cause of death for men under 50.
As a proud member of The Lighthouse Club – The Construction Industry Charity, TLS Group is deeply committed to supporting the emotional and mental wellbeing of workers across the sector. The charity’s mission to offer emotional, physical, and financial support to those in need aligns closely with TLS Group’s values and was a key motivator behind this fundraising effort.
Speaking after completing the challenge, Isla Teare of TLS, organiser of the event said:
“I’m so proud of the team for stepping up in such a meaningful way. This challenge wasn’t just about physical endurance – it was about showing support for one of our own and standing up for a cause that impacts so many families. Mental health must be a conversation we keep alive, both within our industry and beyond.”
The triple marathon event not only raised vital funds for the late operative’s family but also amplified a crucial message: no one should suffer in silence.
Through this challenge, TLS Group has reinforced its commitment to creating an environment where support is always available, and where tough conversations around mental health are met with understanding and action.
