Transport for London (TfL) has revealed which Tube stations in north London could be upgraded soon.

London Mayor Sadiq Khan wants 50 per cent of the stations on the London Underground to be step-free by 2030.

At the moment, 93 Tube station are step-free, which means that a further 43 stations will need to be upgraded in the next five years for this target to be met.

Step-free access stations have lifts so that passengers do not have to use escalators or stairs to move between the street and the platform.

In north London, work is already under way to make various stations step-free.

A new ticket hall at Colindale is set to open before the end of the year, which will make the Northern line station step-free for the first time.

Freedom of Information (FoI) data has also revealed a longlist of 30 stations across the capital that could soon be earmarked for similar upgrades.

Among the stations on the list is Kentish Town, which reopened at the end of last year after an 18 month closure to replace two old escalators.

It is expected that a shortlist of 15 stations will be confirmed in October.

Here is a full list of the step-free access upgrades currently taking place, as well as those which are likely to take place in the coming years.
