Swati Paul appointed as Executive Director and General Counsel at National Highways

Swati joined the Executive Team in early July and leads the in-house Legal and Information Rights teams.
With extensive leadership experience in the legal and commercial sectors, Swati most recently served as Executive Vice President (Legal and Commercial) and Director at Skanska UK Plc.
National Highways Chief Executive Nick Harris said: “The Executive Team is delighted to welcome Swati to the company. Swati’s wealth of experience in corporate law, compliance, and governance has strengthened our Executive Team and Board.”
Swati said: “I’m really proud to have joined National Highways. I look forward to using my legal skills and diverse sector experience to support the company in its pivotal role in connecting the country.”
At Skanska UK Plc, Swati led transformation across multiple corporate functions at board level. Prior to that, she was General Counsel and Company Secretary at London Luton Airport, where she established and integrated the legal team across the business, supporting the delivery of an industry-leading innovation that earned professional recognition.
Swati began her legal career at leading law firms including CMS, Clifford Chance, and Dentons, before moving in-house to hold senior roles at organisations such as Transport for London and Ofgem.
Swati holds a law degree from the London School of Economics (London University) and is a qualified solicitor. She lives in London and enjoys yoga, Zumba, reading, theatre, and spending time with family and friends.
