Galliford Try have been keen to look at how we nurture the education process for our future entrants so they can have a well-rounded learning experience that equips them to help shape the future of our industry.

That is why we are so pleased to announce that for SH Live 2022, West Nottingham College will be joining the event, with a cohort of students taking the stage of the keynote theatre to present a 30-minute segment on what they need from our industry to thrive, the challenges they perceive ahead and the possible solutions that they propose.

“We are so honoured that we can have WNC take the stage at SH Live with us, this has been a partnership we at Galliford Try are proud of. We have been privileged to work with the educators to look at how we renovate the experience our younger generations have, how we help them ignite the passion & spark they could have for our sector and more importantly, open their minds to the endless opportunities that are available to them.

Even more important than this, we have worked closely with WNC to look at how we give students a more holistic experience that focuses on the importance of wellbeing and self-care, because not only do we want future talent in our sector, but we also want them to be happy, healthy, and self-aware” David Lowery, Managing Director, Galliford Try.

We have spent many years trying to bridge the skills gap and create awareness and interest for our industry. Galliford Try’s passion is to be proactive in this pace, not to keep trying to reactively fix this problem. They want to know first-hand from younger generations, what it is they need to feel safe, supported and encouraged to join our thriving sector, so that the solutions they provide are ones that are genuinely needed. It is important to listen carefully before charging ahead with an array of solutions.

On the 29th of September, our industry leaders will all have that very opportunity to listen to our future talent and to hear what it is they need from us to drive positive lasting change across our industry.

The students will take the stage in the Galliford Try sponsored Safer Infrastructure Theatre with the presentation marking the launch of the Rising Stars programme supported by Safer Highways.
