Work is due to begin on the evening of Saturday 15 April, finishing on the morning of Wednesday 17 May 2023. National Highways will be using a mixture of road closures and lane closures to keep everyone safe and will also carry out maintenance and repairs to the drains along the route

Closure information

The northbound A21 between Longfield Road and the Vauxhall interchange will be closed overnight (8pm to 6am) on Saturday 15 and Sunday 16 April, and then weeknights only from Monday 17 April to the morning of Wednesday 17 May (except bank holidays) between 8pm and 6am.

In addition to removing the existing safety barrier, when the road is open at 6am Monday 17 April, there will be a further lane closure and reduced speed limit of 50 mph on the northbound A21 until improvements are complete.

During these closures a division will be in place for the northbound traffic via the A228 and A26. Drivers are being advised to plan ahead.
