A road has been partially closed close to the border of Nottinghamshire with Lincolnshire due to a sinkhole. A section of Spalford Road, close to the Nottinghamshire village of Spalford has been closed.
It appears that the road has been closed since around 6pm on Tuesday, November 7, and is expected to remain closed until Wednesday, 15 November. It has been reported that the closure is due to a sinkhole appearing following the recent bad weather.
Highway works are currently being carried out by Via to fix the road, and diversion signs are in place. People are being diverted through the nearby village of North Scarle.
A road closure is also in place a short distance away on Clifton Lane as Nottinghamshire County Council works to carry out works in the area. This is in relation to the National Grid, and the road will be closed from 8am today until 6pm.
