Quality Marking Services declines RSMA award citing the need to recognise the whole workforce

Safer Highways member and leading road marking and surfacing contractor declines industry accolade in the interests of equality.

Quality Marking Services, a leading voice in our #StampitOut campaign have asked to withdrawn from the nomination process for the Road Safety Markings Association's annual awards.

Th awards, which recognise excellence in the specialist road marking sector have become an integral part of the association's annual conference and indeed were launched back in 2014 by Safer Highways CEO Kevin Robinson in his previous role with the association.

In a statement on their own website QMS explained their reasoning; it read,

"We are extremely proud to have been notified as being shortlisted as finalists in the forthcoming Road Safety Marking Association (RSMA) Industry Awards, this time for our QMS HyperLine™ crew in the RSMA Road Marking Crew of the Year category, to be held on 3rd February 2022 as part of the RSMA Annual Conference.

Liam, Scott, Wayne and Ben each demonstrated their skill and knowledge in the superb application of the QMS HyperLine™ system during 2021 across various networks. On each occasion, they exceeded the expectations of our clients, with fantastic outputs of over 30,000m per shift which reduced time on the highway whilst delivering dazzling retro-reflectivity performance enhancing the driving experience for the motorist, especially in dark, wet conditions.

We are delighted to have been successful in winning numerous RSMA Industry Awards over the years which is testament to the fantastic work delivered by our incredible staff. However, despite being extremely proud of our QMS HyperLine™ team, we are unable to accept an award just for one crew because truly it is our whole team that is deserving of this recognition. We all need each other to be successful and as such, we cannot accept any award for one individual crew who ultimately form part of the larger team.

The advantage of having a multi-skilled training programme is that we have a selection of superb individuals who are knowledgeable across many disciplines.

Collectively, as a business we work together. Our fantastic crews delivering the services to our clients are backed up by the incredible management team and we all take immense pride in what we do.

In recognition of being shortlisted for our crew’s valiant efforts, we raise a glass and shout out to celebrate the efforts from everybody within QMS in demonstrating that with Commitment, Motivation and Determination you can Achieve Success!"
