PA Consulting has announced the appointment of Lizi Stewart as its new Global Head of Transport, further strengthening the consultancy’s position within the global transport and infrastructure sector.

Stewart joins PA with extensive leadership experience across highways, rail and aviation, alongside a strong background in management consultancy. Over the course of her career, she has held several senior industry roles, including Group CEO of Core Highways Group, Managing Director of Transportation at AtkinsRéalis, and Managing Director of Highways & Aviation at Arcadis.

In addition to her executive leadership experience, Stewart is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Highways and Transportation (CIHT) and currently chairs National Highways’ Supplier Diversity Forum, underlining her long-standing commitment to professional excellence, diversity and inclusive growth across the sector.

Speaking about her appointment, Stewart said the transport industry is facing growing pressures as organisations navigate increasingly complex operational and economic challenges.

“Transport organisations around the world are operating in an increasingly complex and uncertain environment, facing intense pressure to optimise costs, improve customer experience, secure ageing infrastructure and strengthen cyber and energy resilience,” she said.
“I’m excited to be joining PA at a time when its strong reputation for combining deep sector expertise with leading digital, data and AI capabilities can make a real difference in helping clients tackle these challenges and deliver better outcomes for the people they serve.
“I’m also drawn to PA’s culture of collaboration and investment in talent, and I’m passionate about creating opportunities for our teams to do bigger, bolder work with our clients globally.”

Stewart’s appointment comes as transport organisations continue to accelerate investment in digital transformation, resilience and sustainability initiatives amid increasing demands on infrastructure networks.

Jiten Kachhela, Consulting Leader at PA, welcomed Stewart to the business, highlighting the value of her sector knowledge and strategic leadership experience.

“Lizi’s appointment will further strengthen our global transport capabilities,” he said.
“She brings a rare combination of deep sector expertise, commercial leadership and a global perspective, alongside a clear focus on innovation and technology-enabled transformation.
“As transport organisations look to navigate disruption and deliver resilient, sustainable systems, Lizi’s leadership will be instrumental in helping our clients achieve lasting impact.”

PA said the appointment reflects its continued investment in the transport and infrastructure sectors, enhancing its ability to support clients delivering large-scale transformation and infrastructure programmes globally, including projects delivered in partnership with Jacobs.
