National Highways today announced it will restart its resurfacing work on the A259 between Brenzett and Rye, (East Sussex) next week after a short-term pause to minimise disruption during the summer holidays.
The closures which will continue in stages, start on the evening of Monday 9 October. To minimise disruption, National highways will work weeknights between 8pm and 6am only, when there are fewer vehicles on the road. As well as completing the resurfacing work, National Highways will also improve road signage along the route.
Explaining the restart of the resurfacing scheme, Peter Phillips – National Highways Route Sponsor – said: “After a short-term pause so we weren’t disturbing journey’s during the summer holidays, we will be restarting our resurfacing scheme on the A259. We understand that living near roadworks isn’t easy, but we will be doing all we can to minimise disruption and noise while we complete our work.”
The work is set to be complete on Wednesday 25 October, subject to weather conditions.
