McCann has been unveiled as the new front of home shirt sponsor for Notts County Women, with a deal agreed for the forthcoming 2023/24 season.
Notts County Women were formed in 2018 and are managed by Adam Dunleavy, with the club’s home games played at Hucknall Town’s RM Stadium.
Following a successful 2022/23 season which saw Notts claim the double, winning both the Nottinghamshire FA County Cup and the East Midlands Women’s Premier League to gain promotion to the FA Women’s National League for the 2023/24 campaign.
The Magpies kick off the new season on Sunday 20 August away to Lincoln City, before their first home league match on Sunday 3rd September against Sheffield FC. The match against Sheffield FC will be the first outing for the new home strip, with McCann set to adorn the front of the kit as the club’s headline sponsor.
We’re proud to have a long-standing tradition of supporting local communities and organisations having previously sponsored both Nottingham Forest and Nottingham Rugby Club.
Adam is excited for the new season to get underway following a successful campaign last time out, and he is delighted to see the new sponsorship agreement reached with McCann.
“Last season was great for us – winning the league and cup double. As a team we are excited for the challenges of life in the FA Women’s National league and testing ourselves at a new level,” explains Adam.
“Success on the pitch is closely connected to the success off it, and part of that success is heavily reliant on support from the local community – especially our sponsors. McCann is a well-known name not just in its home city of Nottingham, but also nationally – so to have the backing of such a reputable business and one rooted in Nottingham, means a lot to us as a club,”
“On behalf of everyone associated with Notts County Women, I’d just like to say thank you to McCann for the incredible support and we very much look forward to working together throughout the coming season.”
An unveiling ceremony was recently held at Meadow Lane – home to Notts County Football Club – for the new home strip and our Managing Director, John McCann, is excited by the timing of the new partnership.
“When we heard about the opportunity to become involved with Notts County Women, it was something we couldn’t pass up,” explains John.
“The profile of the club is growing all the time, especially given the recent success on the pitch, and the profile of the women’s game as a whole is only going one way right now when you look at the publicity around the Women’s World Cup and the Lionesses following their success at the Euros,”
“We’re big believers in backing local businesses and communities wherever possible, and we’re proud to see our name on the front of this season’s home shirts. We’re hoping it’ll be another successful year for Notts County Women!”
