Liberty Charge celebrates gender parity for International Women’s Day

Liberty Charge, the electric vehicle (EV) charge point operator (CPO) committed to delivering the UK’s most reliable, publicly accessible EV charging network, is celebrating International Women’s Day with its growing team, 50% of whom identify as women, across all areas of the business.

Amanda Pun, Legal Director at Liberty Charge, says that Liberty Charge places gender diversity at the heart of its operation: “As a business and as an industry, we have an excellent opportunity to unravel unhelpful stereotypes and gender bias in the workplace, and ensure even greater representation of women in senior roles.

“Having a diverse workforce means that CPOs can better represent the society they serve, and therefore have a better understanding of EV drivers and their needs.”

Gail Rowe, Liberty Charge’s Head of Planning and Impact, argues that International Women’s Day is worth celebrating: “It gives us a day to reflect on what we’re achieving together,” she says. “Creating an environment which encourages women and people from different backgrounds to be involved in what has historically been a male dominated industry makes me proud to be a part of this business.”

Agnese Chiesa, Marketing Manager at Liberty Charge, agrees: “This is only the beginning. Working for a business that is not only making a real difference to our impact on the environment, but one that is also inclusive and diverse is what drives me. Our work doesn’t stop here, we’re committed to continuing to amplify the voices of women in this industry and leading the charge for change.”
