Kier win considerate constructors on area 3 contract

The Kier team on Highways England Area have recently been recognised with the award of the Considerate Constructors Scheme (CCS) 'Certificate of Excellence'.

Since signing up to the scheme in 2008, the team have been recognised by CCS for 13 consecutive years, being highly commended each year with awards ranging from bronze to gold. During the last 12 months, the contract out-performed the Scheme's Company Code of Considerate Practice by exceeding the required scores in all five audit sections.

The executive summary, found in the official CCS report on Area 3, stated: “It is always a pleasure to review this site and the contractor’s commitment to achieving the best levels of compliance with the CCS code of considerate practice is evident and commendable."

The scheme found it extremely pleasing to note that despite the prevailing pandemic, seven apprentices have been given employment opportunities by Area 3 in collaboration with Fareham College. The team's focus on safety and the environment were also highlighted in the summary — both of which are of paramount importance to our business in all areas of operation.

It's clear that the team continue to set a shining example of best practice. Well done to all involved!
