Tables for the National Highways supported Highways Heroes awards have now sold out, in a record 5 minutes.
After going on sale at 9am, such was the high demand, that the website www.highwaysheroes.com actually crashed for a short period of time, and when it finally came online again some 15 minutes later those attempting to book were sadly greeted with the message that the allocation had now sold out.
You can register on our reserve list if any tables become available, by clicking here.
Speaking about the situation Kevin Robinson, Chief Executive of Safer Highways, apologised saying,
“The situation was one which I can only say very sorry to all of the organisations who wished to book a table.
“We never expected to have such a high demand for tables and as such we, as an organisation have struggled to meet the demand, as such our website simply could not cope.
“I, and my team take this as learning for the coming years, and to those who were unsuccessful I can only offer my most heartfelt apologies.
“Due to covid-19 and any potential risk to the event, Safer Highways, in consultation with our principal supporter, National Highways, took the decision to restrict attendance to ensure its viability and as such we have experienced a significant challenge in meeting demand.
“That said, I look forward to welcoming those individuals who have been nominated and the organisations who have booked tables to support them.”
Organised by Safer Highways and supported by both National Highways and Transport Scotland, the awards are the first time the supply chain and the client body have come together to recognise the value and importance of those unsung heroes we put to work everyday.
Taking place on the 2nd December at the QEII convention centre in Westminster the event will be a celebration of those individuals who have gone over and above their job role and really made a difference to their peers and members of the public.
Full coverage for those unable to attend will be published in the spring edition of the critically acclaimed SH Magazine.
