Highway Assurance prioritise workforce health with the installation of Defib Equipment.

Safer Highways member, Highway Assurance go the extra mile to ensure the wellbeing of employees.

For many organisations Health and Safety are spoken about as a high priority within the business and companies with deeper pockets find it easier to achieve excellence across the board.

Then there are the smaller companies, those whose employees are family friends, work colleagues with whom our personal lives are shared as readily as the next job sheet. To them the wellbeing of a work colleague is the equivalent of looking out for a younger sibling or the nurture a parent gives to their child. IT REALLY MATTERS.

So when Highway Assurance, a company only founded a small number of years ago took the decision to install a defibrillator unit at their depot it was done safe in the knowledge that one day, that simple piece of equipment would probably be used to save a friend's life, as Dale Chenery Business Development Director commented,

"At Highway Assurance our priority is our operational and office team’s wellbeing. We feel that we have given all our team the knowledge and tools to be able to look after one another whether it be someone to talk too or in case of any medical emergency. Our ethos at Highway Assurance is “look after your team and they will look after you.

"All members of the HA office have also received a step-by-step instruction and toolbox talk on the administration of CPR with the aid of the pack.

"The defibrillator is also registered with the 999 emergency services so they can deploy this to a member of the public if required."

In addition to the defibrillator unit Highway Assurance have trained a number of mental health first aiders and the annual first aid courses that have been provided for the workforce.
