Fyld join Safer Highways to drive worksite safety

Safer Highways is pleased to announce that FYLD, the digital platform that transforms the ability of field workers and businesses to make real-time, data-driven decisions to enhance safety, productivity and quality, has become a member of our growing network.

The FYLD solution enables field workers to undertake a visual risk assessment at the point of work, where they are able to simply communicate what they see in front of them.

The Artificial Intelligence (AI) then analyses what they report and audio and video data capture is transformed into a formal risk assessment within seconds. By using these assessments, the operative or team leader can identify key hazards and controls, and then effectively communicate them to their team.

The team at FYLD, which includes long-time Safer Highways supporter Karl Simons OBE and FYLD’s Executive Director for Health, Safety & Wellbeing, will now support Safer Highways in its mission to help mitigate worksite safety risk.

Karl Simons OBE said:

“Safer Highways (SH) represents the voice of the highways sector with deep connections to the organisations that drive growth and continuously innovate to ensure best practice, and a high attention to safety across the UK. Becoming members of the SH network was a no brainer for FYLD. It provides a platform to share our knowledge and insights with an industry that we already support through our cutting-edge, AI-driven solution. Through this transformative technology, we can help progressive organisations keep their frontline teams safe and achieve more productive field operations.

“Our technology isn’t focused on the standard approach of turning paper-based risk assessments into electronic tick box documents, we harness the power of AI to revolutionise the way that frontline personnel use audio and video footage alongside machine learning to target risk intervention and make data-driven decisions in real-time through remote collaboration. Our customers have already achieved significant gains from this including better utilised time across their workforce, reduced safety incidents and significant cost savings.

“We’re looking forward to working closely with the SH team and the growing network of industry professionals who engage with the organisation each month to share best practice, lessons learnt as well as collaborate on the development of new innovative solutions which will transform the way we approach road safety.”

Welcoming FYLD, Kevin Robinson, Chief Executive of Safer Highways added: “Having been mentored by Karl for many years and spoken to him at length about our vision for making the environment safer for those who work on the public highway I was honoured so soon after joining a new organisation, Karl came to me express a willingness for FYLD to become formerly involved with the collective and some of our primary objectives.”

In the coming months Safer Highways and FYLD will partner to bring new solutions to the industry, which will allow our members to reap the benefits of modern technology including significant efficiencies across risk and safety assessments, from the design process to delivery across UK highway.
