Drivers are set to face a 60-mile diversion route when a stretch of the A12 shuts next month.
A section of the major route near Yoxford will be closed from 7pm on Friday, December 5 until 5am on Monday, December 8.
While the road is closed, Suffolk Highways will be carrying out a "full depth reconstruction" to the road layout.
According to the Suffolk County Council website, the official diversion route is 60 miles long
The diversion route includes A roads because some vehicles like HGVs cannot go down smaller roads that others would use as shortcuts.
Drivers were left facing a 70-mile diversion route while Suffolk Highways carried out work in the area.
