Crown Plus Limited has been appointed by Linkconnex to undertake the detailed drainage surveys for the forthcoming M6 M54 link in the West Midlands.
Gary Price, Construction Director at Crown Plus commented: “We are delighted to be part of this local programme of works, it is on our doorstep and a great opportunity to continue to prove our capabilities with the Linkconnex.
“The M54 M6 Link will truly benefit the whole region as currently, there’s no direct motorway link from the M54 to the M6 north. The link will provide substantial improvements to the journeys of road users along the route, which in many sections is single lane and 30mph, as well benefiting local communities in the area where large volumes of traffic presently need to use local roads. We are proud to be part of this programme which will see a safer and less congested environment for residents, and an improved experience for road users.”
The surveys will capture the details of all the existing drainage systems in the vicinity of the M6 J11 and M52 J1, in addition to the other areas of the existing network affected by the scheme. Once complete the surveys will enable the following detailed design works to be carried out to:
identify sections of the drainage systems that will be affected by the works
determine the extent of any reconnection works that maybe required
ensure that any retained drainage assets will be of adequate condition and capacity to serve the future site
