A Welsh transport body is seeking contractors for £100m of highways jobs.
The North and Mid Wales Trunk Road Agent launched procurement of its Civil Engineering Construction Works Framework Contract 2024, with an official notice published by Gwynedd Council giving firms until 16 February to express an interest in the opportunity.
Split into four lots, the framework will be in place for at least 12 years, with the potential for two single-year extensions to keep it in place to 2038.
Lots one and two will cover Gwynedd; Powys; Conwy and Denbighshire; Flintshire and Wrexham; and West Wales and the Valleys.
The first lot will feature jobs worth up to £5m on trunk roads and county lanes, with the second section of the framework focused on design-and-build work worth up to £40m.
Lot three will cover Gwynedd; Conwy and Denbighshire; and Flintshire and Wrexham, and feature jobs valued under £1m.
Lot four will contain works up to the same price but in Powys, West Wales and the Valleys.
Tender evaluation will be weighted towards quality, according to the contract notice, with price representing only 20 per cent of marks on lots one, three and four and holding no sway at all on lot two.
Three contractors this year secured places on a £240m highways maintenance framework in South Wales. Tarmac Trading, Centregreat and Alun Griffiths will carry out work in the South Wales Trunk Road Agent’s western, central and eastern regions respectively.
