Colas has partnered with THOMAS PLANT HIRE LIMITED to launch a new campaign in collaboration with suicide prevention charity, #ANDYSMANCLUB(AMC), branding site plant with the organisation’s slogan and motto, ‘It’s okay to Talk’ on the Fink Hill project in Leeds.
The high visibility of the project site, plant, and machinery from outside the perimeters makes the location an ideal platform to reach a wide audience, raising mental health awareness, and providing essential support and information to not only our own colleagues and subcontractors, but the general public.
Conditions such as stress, depression, and anxiety can all affect our mental health and disrupt our daily living, relationships and physical health. In the construction industry, men are three times more likely to commit suicide than those in other sectors.
Colas first partnered with in AMC in 2021 as part of Mental Health awareness and suicide prevention initiatives within the Leeds contracting unit.
The charity, established in 2016, provides a place for men to come together in a safe environment to talk about issues and problems they have faced or are currently facing.
In our Leeds contracting unit, AMC has conducted series of workshops and activities to the team, effectively raising awareness of available support and guidance.
