Balfour Beatty Secures Third Term for Warwickshire Highways Contract Worth £315m

Balfour Beatty Living Places has been awarded a seven-year highways maintenance contract across Warwickshire, valued at £315 million, marking the company’s third consecutive term managing the county’s roads.
The contract, awarded jointly by Warwickshire County Council, Coventry City Council, and Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council, will start in spring 2026. At its peak, the scheme will employ approximately 160 staff.
The arrangement, which first began in 2011, will now run until at least spring 2033, with an option to extend by a further six years. If extended, the total value of the contract could reach £900 million.
Scope of work
Maintenance of more than 5,000 km of roads across the region.
Cyclical upkeep of over 55,000 streetlights.
Delivery of a range of highway services, including road repairs, resurfacing, and public realm maintenance.
