Balfour Beatty has named the next managing director (MD) to lead its UK Construction Services regional Scotland business.
Nick Rowan will officially assume the role on 4 August, having spent the last 10 years as director for new business for the Regional Scotland division.
He replaces Hector MacAulay who is retiring at the end of the year having worked at Balfour Beatty for 40 years and his most recent post since 2015.
Rowan joined Balfour Beatty 30 years ago as a graduate surveyor and spent the first two decades of his career in operational commercial roles.
He also helped to secure the A9 dualling scheme on behalf of Transport Scotland, and the Accelerated Strategic Transmission Investment offshore programme of works for SSEN Transmission.
Rowan said: “With Scotland playing a key role in our growth strategy and the UK’s transition to net zero, I am excited to lead our Scotland business at such a pivotal time.
“I look forward to continuing to work alongside the incredibly talented team, remaining focused on delivering best-in-class, sustainable construction solutions for our customers.”
He added: “I would also like to thank Hector for his leadership over many years – he leaves our Regional Scotland business in excellent health and with clear direction.”
