AMCOGIFFEN BIKE RIDE FUNDRAISER INTO FINAL LEG AS INITIAL TARGET SMASHED.

The AmcoGiffen led charity bike ride enters final leg as the team prepare to ride through the eye of the storm - quite literally.

Two days in and with just 50 miles to got the AmcoGiffen led fundraising bike ride which includes supply partners Flannery, Speedy Hire, Nixon, and KeyLine enters its final leg today but are braced for one final challenge in the form of Storm Babet expected to batter large parts of northern England.

Last year the company lost its Regional Managing Director for Scotland, Peter Ritchie following a short crusade against Cholangiocarcinoma (bile duct cancer).

Peter left an enduring impact on his colleagues who decided to honour his memory by embarking on a challenging 105-mile coast-to-coast bike ride from Allonby, Cumbria to Tynemouth, North Tyneside.

Peter was fit and active before and during his illness, training for the London marathon to raise funds for AMMF, which is the UK’s only Cholangiocarcinoma charity, dedicated to raising awareness, funding research, and offering valuable support for patients and families affected by this devastating form of cancer.

Peter sadly passed in October 2022 without achieving his goal and the bike ride is a fitting tribute to Peter, his family, and his friends to continue raising funds for the charity in his memory.

The ride, which took in some of the most gruelling parts of the North of England, set its self the initial goal of raising £10,000, however with still a day to go the team have smashed the target with the current total sitting in excess of £16,000.
