Mike Eastwood, a Lead Quantity Surveyor working with A-one+, is about to set off on a journey to deliver much needed medical supplies to Poland, as the country responds to the humanitarian crisis on the Polish Ukrainian border.
Mike explained “I’ve volunteered to drive humanitarian aid to the Ukraine border to help the Ukrainian refugees. We plan to leave on Sunday 6th March to travel to Southampton to pick up medical supplies; then it’s onward to Poland in convoy with 20 other UK volunteers from around the country.”
“Seeing reports from the Ukraine and the humanitarian response from those in power motivated me to reach out to a charity. They put me in touch with a small group of people who were looking into organising aid; these are like-minded people in logistics and other sectors that have the experience to help. We’ve been advised that the Polish response now has enough clothing and what they need are medical supplies, so our aim is to get them into Poland for those seeking refuge from Ukraine”
Mike has set up crowdfunding page to help cover the cost of fuel and ferry charges. If you would like to help, you can make a donation here https://www.crowdfunder.co.uk/p/humanitarian-aid-for-ukraine
