The acquisition supports the ambitious growth plans of Carnell and expands our capabilities within the highways sector to include bridge and structures maintenance.
Route One was founded back in 2005 by Matthew Pert and Gary Credland. It has since grown to become a leading bridge and structures specialist in the civil engineering sector.
The acquisition increases the capabilities of the Carnell Group to include bridge maintenance and repair, including bridge expansion joints, waterproofing systems, bridge bearings, concrete repairs and cathodic protection. These complimentary capabilities allow Carnell to expand its offering for new and existing clients, supporting the RIS3 investment in the strategic roads network and the wider focus across the UK on maintaining infrastructure assets.
Andrew Sharp, Carnell Group Managing Director, commented:
“Carnell has been providing specialist engineering services in the highways sector for over 30 years. By bringing Route One into the Group, we are expanding our specialist capability and accelerating our growth plans. We are looking forward to welcoming the Route One team into the Carnell family and continuing to provide clients with a high quality, reliable service.”
Gary Credland, Route One Business Development Director, commented:
“I am delighted that Route One has found a new home within the Carnell Group, that will allow us to continue to develop and grow. Matt and I are looking forward to working as an integral part of the Carnell team, and seeing the business continue to thrive under new ownership, as we embark on an exciting new chapter.”
