Westcotec and Safer Highways partner up to bring racing sim to L!ve in aid of Lighthouse Charity

Safer Highways and Traffic Safety Systems provider Westcotec have joined forces in an innovative way to raise money for the Lighthouse Charity.

As part of this year's industry-wide safety stand down event, Westcotec will be bring a full sized formula one racing simulator to the event where attendees will be able to race a lap around the iconic Silverstone Circuit with the fastest time being declared the winner on the day receiving a prize of a magnum of champagne and a special money can't buy experience.

The sim, which will be at both the Networking drinks reception the night prior to the event and in pride of place at the very entrance on the day will cost just £1 per lap with all monies raised going directly to the Lighthouse Charity.

The sim will also be liveried with the Safer Highways led Stamp it Out campaign which seeks to eliminate roadworker abuse in order to raise awareness of the programme, as well as sponsors Westcotec's logo and that of our charity, the Lighthouse charity in order to remind those attending and participating in the challenge the specific reasons we are here - principally to make conditions within the workplace better for those we employ.

Speaking about the simulator and his innovative idea for an interactive stand at the event, Safer Highways CEO, Kevin Robinson said,

"Olly (Samways, Sales Director at Westcotec,) and I have long searched for innovative approaches which really add value to an event for the attendee and make it different to the norm whilst delivering important messages around road safety..

"This was exactly that, whilst at the same time raises money for a worthy charity.

"I thank Olly and Westcotec for coming to me with a truly innovative approach to delivering important messages around road safety."

To be held at East Midlands Conference Centre on 29th September 2022. The event will incorporate both Respect our Roadworkers week and The Big Idea, with the live final in the afternoon of the full day programme.

SH L!ve is made up of indoor and outdoor exhibition zones showcasing the latest innovation, products, concepts and services in the health, safety and wellbeing sector, alongside several unique feature areas that will bring all the latest insight.

Delegate registrations for this year's SHL!ve has hit 80% capacity two months out from the event in September.
