As local authorities and utilities prepare to meet the demands of the Five-Year Vision for Street and Road Works in the UK, Traffic Group Signals has announced it is supporting customers to ensure they have the knowledge and solutions to stay ahead of the competition.
The document, published by the Highways Authorities and Utilities Committee (HAUC) in late 2020, sets out a blueprint for the nation’s infrastructure delivery over the next five years – a time when the industry is set to contribute powerfully to building a UK economy which is fit for the digital, carbon-neutral age.
The Five-Year Vision looks ahead to 2025 and specifies five new and emerging drivers which HAUC believes will impact the industry’s work and future approach: digitalisation; innovation; skills and workforce; collaboration; environment and decarbonisation.
Traffic Group Signals says it recognises the big changes on the horizon, which will see the transition of the traffic management sector to a digital and decarbonised industry, one where traffic control for works are as safe and efficient as can be.
Working together in partnership with customers, Traffic Group Signals is focused on providing bespoke advice for customers tendering for projects and industry leading solutions which not only tick all the boxes, but are proven to make roadworks safer, greener and more efficient.
Will Credicott, marketing manager at Traffic Group Signals, comments: “There is a season of change ahead as the industry works together to deliver the infrastructure revolution. “Our customers will soon be expected to demonstrate their ability to meet every new demand and requirement when tendering for work. However, striking the balance isn’t always going to be easy, depending on the nature and complexity of a project.
“We have made it our mission to upskill the industry and, to achieve this, the five key principles set out by HAUC underpin the strategic direction of Traffic Group Signals, informing decision-making throughout the business.
“By taking this approach, we can offer our customers best-in-class traffic management solutions. This includes everything from digitising all aspects of signal design, deployment, ongoing advice and maintenance – to increasing worker safety and site efficiency with the latest in signalling technology. We are now able to support customers with the design, planning and awarding of schemes with our new Signal Studio desktop app.
“We truly believe that, to stay ahead of the competition, knowledge is power and we are well prepared to work in partnership with and fully support our customers in the lead up to the 2025 target and beyond.”
