Developing affordable, sustainable and innovative customer solutions that last, has long been the driving force behind NPD at Traffic Group Signals.
Following extensive customer research, TGS – one of the UK’s leading manufacturers of temporary and portable traffic signals – discovered a gap in the market when it came to safe and secure product transportation.
Ensuring the high-value equipment arrived on site without damage was a common issue which came out of the research and as such, the experienced team at TGS set about developing a creative and protective solution.
With the brand new RC2 Tripod Carry Case, the team has innovated an outstanding product which carries both the tripod and signal head and prevents radar and aerial damage caused during transit.
Manufactured from 100% recycled plastic, the stackable cases enable the tripod to be easily and safely carried by two operatives, or by using a lightweight pallet truck. Tie down straps and a hard-wearing moulded design allow a functional design which works.
Commenting on the process behind the launch of the new RC2 Tripod Carry Case, Will Credicott, Marketing Manager at Traffic Group Signals, comments: “We put enormous focus on the valued relationships with our customers, without these, business would not flourish and grow. Strong and trusted partnerships not only lead to repeat business but help with overall company perception and referrals.
“It is often unavoidable that products get knocked during transit, however this not only degrades the appearance of signals, it can also have unexpected consequences on performance. When vital equipment becomes damaged it can be costly to both us and our customers and may erode trust.
“With high value, specialist equipment such as traffic signals, transporting them safely while avoiding unnecessary disruption is vital. The RC2 Tripod comprises of two core parts – a supporting frame and signal head, with top-mounted radar and radio; the complex design and build means there are components that could be damaged if not transported and stored carefully.
“Success comes from customer involvement so if we aren’t talking to them, how do we know what problem we are trying to solve? That’s why we accessed rich information to gain an understanding of their problems and needs with signal transportation. With the launch of our RC2 Tripod Carry Case we have developed a useful solution which meets their needs and far exceeds expectations.”
